Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar instructs engineers to accelerate stormwater drain, pothole repair, and civic infrastructure works across East Bengaluru to prevent monsoon flooding.

Bengaluru East City Corporation’s Additional Commissioner (Development), Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar, has issued strict instructions to engineers to fast-track stormwater drain and civic works in areas that repeatedly flood during rains. The order comes as Sai Layout and Vadderpalaya continue to face heavy waterlogging every monsoon, causing major inconvenience to residents.

Since the monsoon has weakened and the city is now entering a period of dry weather through winter and summer, the Additional Commissioner has directed that all stormwater drain retaining wall construction be completed before the end of summer. Officials were told that this seasonal window must be used effectively to finish long-pending works without delay.
