Morning fog and light rainfall disrupt airport operations while city braces for intermittent rain and mild winter temperatures this week.

Bengaluru experienced a chilly start on Thursday as dense fog around Kempegowda International Airport caused delays for around 41 flights. The disruption began from 5:30 am, affecting morning departures. Details of the specific flights impacted were not immediately available.

Parts of the city also saw light rainfall early Thursday morning. However, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) did not issue any severe weather warnings, indicating the conditions were not considered hazardous.

The IMD noted that dense fog during early winter is common in Bengaluru, typically forming between 3 am and 8:30 am. On Wednesday, the sky remained partly cloudy, but Thursday’s fog significantly reduced visibility around airport areas.

Weather forecasts suggest that Bengaluru will continue to experience partly cloudy skies with brief spells of light rain until the weekend. Daytime temperatures are likely to hover around 29°C, while nights are expected to be cooler, settling near 19-20°C. The city may witness light rainfall specifically on November 29 and 30, after which conditions are expected to stabilise from December 1 to 3. Humidity is also forecast to ease slightly toward the weekend.

Overall, Bengaluru, known as the Silicon Valley of India, will see calm and moderately cloudy conditions over the next week, with occasional drizzles but no severe weather alerts. Residents and travelers are advised to plan accordingly, especially during early morning hours when fog may impact visibility.
