A cutting-edge driverless car developed by Wipro, IISc, and RV Engineering College has been unveiled, marking a major milestone in India’s AI-driven automotive innovation.

In a remarkable step toward the future of mobility, a driverless car jointly developed by Wipro, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and RV Engineering College was unveiled at the RV campus in Bengaluru. The event drew attention after a video of the unveiling went viral on social media.

The project marks a significant collaboration between academia and industry, combining Wipro’s technological expertise with IISc’s research strength and RV Engineering College’s innovation-oriented approach. The autonomous vehicle has been designed to tackle India’s complex road conditions, accounting for unpredictable traffic, pedestrians, and road markings.

The car operates entirely on artificial intelligence (AI), using advanced sensors, cameras, and smart algorithms to identify road lanes, detect traffic signals, and respond to pedestrian movement. It can self-navigate through urban streets, making it a first-of-its-kind innovation tailored for Indian infrastructure.

Adding to the moment’s significance, Uttaradi Mutt seer Sri Satyatmateertha Swamiji became the first to take a ride in the autonomous vehicle, symbolizing trust in India’s engineering prowess.

Interestingly, no official statement has yet been issued by IISc, Wipro, or RV Engineering College, but the prototype’s public unveiling has sparked widespread curiosity and excitement in the tech and education sectors.
