Under the new initiative, residents can submit videos or photos of individuals caught discarding waste in public places through a dedicated WhatsApp number or official social-media handles. Once the evidence is verified, the citizen will receive a ₹250 cash reward for their contribution to keeping the city clean.
The move comes as BSWML authorities tighten enforcement, recently beginning to return illegally dumped waste to repeat offenders’ doorsteps and imposing heavy fines to curb littering habits.
