Gym trainer in Thyagarajanagar kicked a child, injuring him. Police arrested and bailed him; Children’s Commission sought a report from DCP South Division

A disturbing incident in Thyagarajanagar under Banashankari police station limits has sparked outrage after a gym trainer allegedly assaulted a young boy playing on the road. The accused, identified as Ranjan, reportedly kicked the child with force, leaving him injured on his body and hands. The boy’s mother lodged a complaint, following which police arrested Ranjan.

CCTV footage obtained by News First revealed that the trainer had previously attacked several children in the locality, displaying repeated acts of aggression. Despite the arrest, police released Ranjan on station bail after registering a case under Section BNA 115/2 for intentional wounding. The footage confirmed that the injuries were deliberate, raising serious concerns about child safety in the area.

He announced that a formal complaint would be filed with the Commission to ensure accountability.

A spontaneous complaint has already been registered with the Children’s Commission, which has now sought a detailed report from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Division. The Commission has asked for clarity on the action taken against the accused and measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
