  • Later messaged women saying “I killed my wife for you”
  • Sent confession through PhonePe after being blocked

Weeks after allegedly killing his dermatologist-wife, Dr. Mahendra Reddy  sent shocking messages to several women, confessing to the crime and proposing marriage again.

In a shocking twist to the murder of dermatologist Dr. Kruthika Reddy, Bengaluru police have revealed that her husband, Dr. Mahendra Reddy, sent disturbing messages to multiple women after killing her. The accused reportedly told one woman, “I killed my wife for you”, weeks after Kruthika’s death.

Police said Mahendra, an anesthesiologist, killed his 29-year-old wife by administering anaesthesia on April 24. He was finally arrested on October 14 from Manipal, Udupi district, after being on the run for nearly six months.

Investigations show that after Kruthika’s death, Mahendra attempted to contact around 4–5 women, including a medical professional who had earlier rejected his proposal. When one of them blocked him on all messaging platforms, he allegedly sent the shocking confession through a digital payment app, PhonePe, where messages can be attached with money transfers.

Police seized Mahendra’s phone and laptop, which revealed multiple messages sent to women. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield) K. Parashurama confirmed that the message “I killed my wife for you” was indeed sent via the payment app.

The woman told police that she had blocked Mahendra long before his marriage and had no role in the crime. Believing the message to be fake, she ignored it until his arrest confirmed the truth.

Further investigation uncovered Mahendra’s contact with a Mumbai-based woman he had previously proposed to. He had told her through his father that he had “died in an accident” to end the relationship. But in September, Mahendra shockingly reappeared, telling her he had faked his death, married Kruthika, and that according to his astrological chart, his “first wife was destined to die.” After Kruthika’s death, he proposed marriage to the same woman again.

Police are now examining his digital records for more evidence and motives behind the gruesome act.
