Karnataka cabinet clears Rs 1,729 crore sewage treatment projects for Bengaluru

Massive infrastructure push with news sewage treatment plants across Bengaluru and a Rs 2,930 crore high-tech township near Yelahanka.

In a major infrastructure boost, the Karnataka state cabinet has cleared projects worth over Rs 4660 crore. These include the construction of multiple sewage treatment plants across Bengaluru and the approval of a high-tech township near Yelahanka.

The government has sanctioned Rs 956.67 crore for six sewage treatment plants across Madiwala, Kadubeesanahalli, Kadugodi, Koramangala, Basavapura, and Bellandur Amani Khane. Additionally, an RCC tank worth Rs 21.65 crore will replace the demolished stone reservoir at the Water Board’s Clave Line Reservoir Station.

To enhance sewage management, the cabinet approved Rs 28.88 crore to upgrade the Kengeri plant capacity from 60 MLD to 80 MLD. Further, 100 MLD capacity plants will come up at Doddabele and Mailasandra at a cost of Rs 722.72 crore.

Alongside these civic projects, a high-tech township near Yelahanka has been greenlit with an investment of Rs 2,930 crore, marking a significant step towards urban development and economic growth in the region.
