Misty mornings ahead: Bengaluru likely to feel 12°C chill next week

Meteorologists warn of a sharper dip in night temperatures across North Karnataka and Bengaluru, with misty mornings and dry winds expected to dominate the next three days.

Karnataka is preparing for a notable rise in cold conditions over the next three days, with the India Meteorological Department indicating a further fall in night temperatures across several regions. A dense and dry northeasterly wind pattern is expected to keep conditions colder than usual, especially in northern districts and the southern interior.

Weather officials have forecast that districts including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Belagavi and Dharwad are likely to witness a sharp dip, with minimum temperatures expected to settle between 12°C and 15°C. This widespread chill is likely to persist through the week.

In Bengaluru, winter-like conditions have already become noticeable. For the past week, the city’s minimum temperature has hovered around 16°C, and early on Wednesday, the city recorded 17°C. Meteorologists expect mornings today and tomorrow to remain mist-covered, with visibility likely to drop in certain pockets.

Although the maximum temperature in Bengaluru is expected to remain near 28°C, the minimum is likely to slide to 15°C over the next two days. Forecast models also indicate a further fall next week, with the temperature possibly touching 12°C, marking one of the season’s coldest phases.

Dry weather conditions are expected to continue across the southern interior and coastal Karnataka, with no rain predicted in the immediate period. Residents are advised to prepare for colder dawn and post-sunset hours, as the chill is set to intensify across several parts of the state.
