PARAM has been developed by General Autonomy, a company working on advanced robotic systems. The device has impressed residents not only with its looks but also with the level of engineering it carries. According to the developers, the robot has been built almost entirely with local components, except for a few specialised parts.
Despite being created in just 30 days, PARAM showcases capabilities that stand out. The robot weighs 35 kg, offers an 8-hour battery life, and can move at speeds up to 3 metres per second. It is also capable of jumping one metre high, navigating streets smoothly and maintaining stability on uneven surfaces. The company also clarified that PARAM is different from “Champak,” the robot dog seen during the IPL earlier this year.
