Bengaluru: NewsFirst Managing Director and Shaping India’s EV narrative: NewsFirst CEO S. Ravikumar calls Bengaluru the nation’s electric mobility hubCEO S. Ravikumar delivered a powerful and inspiring address at the inauguration of EVReady 2026, warmly welcoming dignitaries, industry leaders, and visitors to one of Karnataka’s largest electric mobility platforms.

Extending his greetings, Ravikumar welcomed Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, Dr. Hanif Qureshi, TVS Motor Company Director and CEO and Chairman of SIAM Two-Wheeler CEOs Council K.N. Radhakrishnan, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Managing Director and CEO Ms. Suman Mishra, and Kinetic Green Founder and CEO Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, along with other distinguished guests.

He said NewsFirst has consistently reported on the vast potential of electric mobility and its role in creating a cleaner, greener, and quieter Bengaluru. However, with EVReady 2026, the channel has moved beyond reporting and stepped into the role of hosting the future. “Today, we have shifted from the newsroom to the showroom floor, where the next chapter of mobility is being written,” he said.

Describing Bengaluru as more than just India’s Silicon Valley, Ravikumar said the city is now ready to be recognised as the electric vehicle capital of India. “A few years ago, Bengaluru meant software and coffee. Today, we are rewriting that story, from writing code to charging ahead,” he remarked.

He said there is no better place than Bengaluru to accelerate India’s electric vehicle revolution. With its strong technology ecosystem, startup culture, and innovation-driven mindset, the city is uniquely positioned to bridge smart technology with sustainable transportation.

Highlighting the rapid growth of the EV ecosystem between 2022 and 2025, Ravikumar said India, especially Karnataka, has seen exponential progress. Adoption rates in two-wheelers and four-wheelers have surged, placing Karnataka among the top three EV states in the country. He said EVReady 2026 is designed to act as a catalyst for this growth.

He also acknowledged the critical role of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, noting that policy support through schemes such as PLI for batteries and automotive components has strengthened India’s EV manufacturing base and boosted industry confidence.

Concluding his address, he said EVReady 2026 is more than an exhibition. “It is a platform where buyers meet makers, ideas meet infrastructure, and Bengaluru shows India and the world how to drive the future,” he said.
