  • Swiggy moving HQ from ORR to Whitefield’s Sumadhura Capitol Towers
  • New office near Kadugodi Tree Park and Hopefarm Channasandra metro stations
  • Better infrastructure, connectivity, and affordability drive the shift

The food delivery giant will relocate from Embassy Tech Village in Bellandur to Sumadhura Capitol Towers, citing metro access, improved infrastructure, and affordable housing.

Bengaluru-based delivery platform Swiggy is preparing to shift its corporate headquarters from Bellandur on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to Whitefield, becoming the latest major company to move out of the congested tech corridor. The company will relocate its office from Embassy Tech Village to Sumadhura Capitol Towers, a modern facility that will house around 2,000 employees, according to an internal memo shared with staff.

In its communication, Swiggy highlighted that the new office offers significantly better connectivity, thanks to its proximity to the Kadugodi Tree Park Metro Station. The facility is also close to the Hopefarm Channasandra Metro Station, giving employees two metro options to reach the workplace with ease.

Apart from transport convenience, Swiggy noted that residential areas around Whitefield provide more affordable housing compared to Bellandur and ORR, making the location more attractive for staff. Sources added that the shift is not directly linked to ORR’s long-standing traffic issues, which have persisted for years, but is mainly driven by the company’s lease nearing its expiry after more than five years at the current office.

Swiggy, which has operated along ORR for over six years and employs more than 2,000 people, began its journey 11 years ago with its first delivery in Koramangala. The company was listed on the stock market in November 2024.

This move comes amid a trend of firms reconsidering their presence along ORR. In September, logistics tech firm BlackBuck announced its decision to leave ORR as well, citing potholes, dust, and a lack of timely road repairs.

Swiggy is yet to announce a specific date for the move, but employees have expressed a preference for the new metro-connected location.
