Bengaluru techie Selva Balamurugan shot wife after failed hitman deal; police arrest accused hitman Moulesh for not reporting murder plot

Bengaluru police have uncovered chilling details in the case of a software engineer who allegedly shot his wife dead last month. Investigations reveal that the accused, 40old Moulesh from Salem, Tamil Nadu, who was identified as the prospective hitman. Moulesh, a habitual offender already jailed in a theft case, was brought to Bengaluru on a body warrant. Authorities said he failed to alert police despite knowing about Balamurugan’s murder plan.

Investigators revealed that Balamurugan had searched online for contacts and connected with Moulesh, who travelled to Bengaluru and stayed in a hotel for three days. He was tasked with two jobs: first, to act as a private detective to identify the man allegedly involved in an affair with Bhuvaneshwari, and second, to kill her at a location without CCTV coverage.

Balamurugan reportedly offered ₹1.5 lakh for the crime, but Moulesh demanded a higher payment. When negotiations broke down, Moulesh returned to Salem without informing authorities. Balamurugan then decided to execute the murder himself.
