New semi-high-speed train to link Vijayawada, Tirupati, and Bengaluru, offering faster and more efficient travel across Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
A new Vande Bharat Express connecting Vijayawada and Bengaluru is expected to commence operations on December 10, according to the South Central Railway (SCR). The official launch date is likely to be confirmed shortly, as final checks and scheduling processes are currently underway.
As per the planned timetable, the train will leave Vijayawada at 5:15 am and reach Bengaluru at 1:15 pm. The service will run through Tirupati, creating a direct and faster link between three major cities, Vijayawada, Tirupati, and Bengaluru.

The introduction of this route is aimed at offering a quicker and more comfortable travel option for passengers commuting for work, education, and pilgrimage. With rising demand for efficient transport between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, the new Vande Bharat is expected to make travel between the regions smoother and significantly reduce journey time.
This launch forms part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of Railways to improve India’s rail network and expand the Vande Bharat fleet. Along with the Vijayawada-Bengaluru service, approvals and preparations are also underway for other upcoming routes, including a new Vande Bharat between KSR Bengaluru and Ernakulam.

SCR is expected to release more details in the coming days regarding ticket availability, operational guidelines, and onboard services. The new train promises a modern, upgraded travel experience and is considered a major step forward in boosting regional connectivity in southern India.
