Compass Group India, a leading food and support services provider, has inaugurated a 29,000 sq ft central kitchen in Whitefield, Bengaluru. This strategic move is anticipated to boost the company’s revenue by 45% over the next three years, with the aim of increasing daily meal production from 700,000 to over one million.

A subsidiary of Compass Group PLC, which operates in 45 countries, Compass Group India serves over 450 clients across the corporate, education, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors. With a robust network of over 550 suppliers and a workforce of approximately 32,000 employees, the company is well-positioned for this expansion.

The new central kitchen, Compass Group India’s eighth facility in the country, currently prepares 28,000 meals daily, with the capacity to scale up to 40,000 meals. This facility handles the production of 20 tonnes of cooked food each day, including 3,500 kg of rice, 3,500 kg of lentils, 15,000 eggs, and 15,000 idlis.

The central kitchen boasts several sustainability initiatives, including a 150 KW solar panel for energy efficiency, saving 9,000 litres of water daily in rice cooking, harvesting 900,000 litres of rainwater each season, and recycling 64,000 litres of treated water daily.

Additionally, waste management measures include converting wet waste to pig feed, recycling dry waste, and repurposing used oil for biodiesel and soap production.

This facility underscores Compass Group India’s commitment to sustainable growth and high standards in food production.
