Darshan, co-accused sent to 6-day judicial custody

Actor Darshan has been one of the most successful heroes in Sandalwood. His movies have had a tremendous impact on society and his fans. It is needless to say he enjoys a demi-god status.

However, on the other end of the continuum, he has also been destiny’s favourite child for controversies. His controversies have always made more news than his cinemas itself. In the recent times, after a string of flops, his recent movie Katera had given him a new lease of life. Just when all of them thought he was getting back on track, this sensational news has engulfed all the goodness.

Darshan and his accomplices have been arrested by the Bengaluru police in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, an Apollo pharmacy worker. He was summoned by the actor himself, questioned over alleged lewd messages sent to Pavitra Gowda, a close aide of Darshan. 

The investigation has revealed that Renukaswamy was brutally assaulted in an inhumane manner resulting in his murder.  His facial bones are reported to have been broken. His nose was split wide open at the time it was found. His private parts were injured. The blows were so heinous that his left ribs were found broken. His hands and legs were repeatedly struck with bats and clubs. His ears and face were grievously injured during the assault. Unfortunetly, the deceased was a huge fan of Darshan and was upset that Pavithra Gowda caused a rift between Darshan and his wife Vijayalakshmi.

With more news emerging from the incident, it is said that after realising the gravity of the situation, Darshan met Pavitra and allegedly slapped her badly, holding her responsible for the death of Renukaswamy. 

Now after all this, many are forced to think if actors deserve the accolades they are showered with. There is one question which instantly pops up on our minds…are stars worth all the love we shower? Of course, not all of them come under the same category but we have also seen a rise in such incidents. We have seen celebrities killing people in accidents, getting themselves involved in drug cases and easily getting away from all this. Despite them doing all this they are idolised more. 

Actor Darshan was arrested in 2011 after his wife Vijaya Lakshmi accused him of domestic violence. Immediately after his release, his movie Sarathy went on to become a runaway success. Though the reel-life behaviour of these stars gets encomiums, the real-life behaviour certainly makes one think if they can be emulated.
