  • No formal plea received from Jollywood or Bigg Boss
  • Closure order for the 30-acre studio remains in force
  • KSPCB open to reviewing if a legal request is filed

Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) Chairman Narendra Swamy has stated that no application or request has been received from the Jollywood studio or Bigg Boss organisers, dismissing rumours of any relief.

The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has once again jolted the Bigg Boss Kannada team with a fresh twist in the ongoing studio closure controversy. Chairman Narendra Swamy, addressing a press meet, clarified that the board has not received any application or request seeking an extension or relief from the Jollywood studio, the location where the Bigg Boss show is being filmed.

“We haven’t taken any decision regarding the 10-day grace period. The Deputy CM might have spoken about it, but no official plea has reached us. Once a request comes, we will examine it under the law,” said Swamy.

The chairman firmly stated that the KSPCB is not against Bigg Boss but is enforcing compliance with environmental norms. “The studio operates under the name ‘Jollywood Wales’, and it falls under the red category. We issued three notices and conducted multiple spot inspections. Yet, they failed to respond,” he revealed.

Swamy added that the board had already passed a closure order on September 16, which was officially issued on October 6, affecting approximately 30-35 acres of the Jollywood property, though Bigg Boss occupies only about 1.5 acres. “If they submit a proper legal appeal, we can consider granting time, even up to 90 days, as per the law,” he said.

The statement effectively dashes hopes of an immediate green signal for the show’s continuation, leaving the fate of Bigg Boss Kannada in uncertainty, unless Jollywood makes a timely legal move.
