Deputy CM DK Shivakumar has hit back at JDS accusations that he orchestrated the Bigg Boss shutdown, saying the decision was made by the Pollution Control Board, not him.
The Bigg Boss Kannada controversy has taken a political turn with the JDS directly accusing Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar of being behind the show’s shutdown. In a fiery post on social media, the JDS claimed that Shivakumar, dubbed the “nut-and-bolt minister,” used the Pollution Control Board to take revenge on artistes and force the reality show to halt operations.
Responding to the charge, DK Shivakumar dismissed the allegations as baseless political drama. “Let Kumaraswamy and JDS do their politics. I have nothing to do with this. The decision was taken by the Pollution Control Board. I only told the District Collector that jobs are important and they should get a fair chance to resolve the issue,” he said.
Shivakumar revealed that he even spoke to the Pollution Control Board chairman to ensure the matter is handled lawfully. “Entertainment is equally important. I inaugurated the show myself. They (JDS) can’t stay calm unless they talk about me, they lose sleep if they don’t,” he added sharply.

Defending his stand, Shivakumar emphasized that mistakes, if any, should be corrected, ,not punished outright. “Bigg Boss or anyone else, they’ve made an investment. If there’s an issue, they must be given an opportunity to fix it. That’s my advice,” he said.
