Kantara actress raises voice against vulgar video circulation; several film personalities extend support
Actor Sapthami Gowda has strongly reacted to the circulation of obscene and inappropriate videos of actresses on social media platforms. Expressing deep concern, the Kantara fame actor said the growing trend of capturing and sharing objectionable visuals of actresses and women artists has crossed limits.
Sapthami stated that under the name of social media coverage, paparazzi harassment has increased significantly. According to her, there is a disturbing pattern where certain individuals zoom in unnecessarily and film actresses in a manner that highlights their bodies in a vulgar way instead of respecting them as performers. She made it clear that such practices are unacceptable.

The actress voiced her disappointment over how videos and photographs of actresses and artists are being recorded and circulated in an indecent manner. She particularly objected to the way some social media and digital media platforms present actresses in a degrading way.
Appealing for responsibility, Sapthami urged photographers and videographers to be cautious while filming actresses at public events and programs. She requested that unnecessary zoom shots and inappropriate angles must be stopped immediately.

“Focus on our art, not our body,” Saptami said, stressing that artists should be recognised for their talent and work, not objectified for online engagement.
She has now taken up this issue as a fight against obscene and unnecessary video content. Her stand has received support from several actors and actresses from the Kannada film industry.
Film personalities including Rakshita Prem, Ashika Ranganath, Malavika Avinash, Aishani Shetty, Duniya Vijay and Yuva Rajkumar have shared posts backing her stand against obscene and irrelevant video content.
