Actress Ramya’s latest video portraying friendly stray dogs sparks fresh debate amid rising citizen complaints over street dog attacks and safety concerns in Bengaluru.
The debate over stray dogs in Bengaluru has intensified once again after actress Ramya shared another video on social media, drawing sharp reactions from citizens affected by the growing street dog menace.
In the video posted by Ramya, stray dogs are seen playfully interacting with a young girl. Through this post, the actress attempted to convey that street dogs are not aggressive by nature. She also reiterated her opposition to relocating stray dogs to shelters, stating that dogs should be allowed to live among people.

This comes just a day after Ramya openly criticised the Supreme Court’s observations and orders related to stray dogs. Earlier, she had questioned a court remark that suggested it is difficult to understand a dog’s behaviour. Ramya argued that even a human mind cannot be fully understood, pointing out that humans can commit crimes like rape or murder at any time, yet society cannot jail everyone pre-emptively. Her comments had already triggered widespread discussion.

However, on the ground, citizens continue to report fear and distress due to stray dogs. In Nandini Layout, a resident shared a video showing five to six dogs chasing him, questioning when a solution would be found. He has also filed a complaint with the GBA over the issue.
Another citizen said that morning walks have become frightening, with people feeling unsafe stepping out due to packs of stray dogs roaming residential areas. Several residents are asking whether there is any control mechanism in place to address the increasing incidents.

The contrasting visuals of friendly dogs and aggressive incidents have once again brought the stray dog issue to the forefront, raising questions about balance between animal welfare and human safety.
