NewsFirst Prime caught up with the BJP contender and spoke to him about myriad issues. From taking the plunge into politics after being a doctor for a long, long time to how he would strike a chord with the electorate to how he fancies his chances and his take on Narendra Modi, he candidly revealed his mind.
Here are excerpts from the interview:
Even as a cardiologist, I used to interact with a lot of patients. In my 30 years of service, I have come across 75 lakh patients directly. Indirectly, with 2 crore people. Meeting people wasn’t new. I have never sat inside AC rooms discussing with patients. Politics, to me, is also a service sector.
As a cardiologist, I was fixing hearts. As a politician, I have to win the hearts of the voters. But honestly, it is a complex procedure.
He is a very confident man who is capable of taking bold decisions. He gives importance to all and recognises talents in different fields.
