Goa Police submit 642-page chargesheet in relation to death of Chinmay involving Bengaluru-based CEO Suchana Seth

The Goa Police has completed its investigation pertaining to the death of Chinmay, the 4-year-old son of Bengaluru-based CEO Suchana Seth. The Goa Police has submitted a 642-page long chargesheet to the court. 

The Goa Police has invoked Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to murder and section 210 of the IPC pertaining to the destruction of evidence against Suchana Seth in their chargesheet. The Chargesheet has been submitted in accordance with Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act. The police allege that Suchana Seth squeezed the neck of Chinmay to cause his death. 

A tissue paper upon which Suchana Seth had inscribed using an eyeliner has also been produced as evidence to the court. Suchana Seth’s husband’s statements formed a key part of the case presented by the police. The incident is believed to have occurred in a service apartment in Goa on January 7th.

Suchana who had separated from her husband Venkat Raman supposedly attempted to prevent her son Chinmay from meeting him. The court mandated meetings of Venkat are reported to have faced several delays leading up to Chinmay’s death. This is being speculated as the leading cause for the murder to have taken place.
