In the 62nd match of IPL 2024 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru, DC won the toss and chose to bowl first.

As the RCB openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis began to bat, they had a disappointing start as within the first three overs Plessis lost his wicket to Mukesh Kumar and in the very next over Kohli also lost his wicket.

In the first 10 overs RCB were at 110 for 2 wickets. Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar however stabilized RCB batting to some extent, but in the last three overs RCB lost five wickets. RCB could put up a target of 187 runs for DC to chase.

Axar Patel debuted as the captain for Delhi Capitals in the absence of the suspended Rishabh Pant for this match as he has been fined and suspended for one match for slow over-rate against Rajasthan Royals.

As DC batters began to chase, they had a disastrous start as they lost four wickets within the first four overs to the amazing bowling prowess of the RCB bowlers. Axar Patel scored good runs for DC with hitting 57 runs in 39 balls.

Yash Dayal took this crucial wicket in the 16th over when DC score stood at 130 for 8 wickets signalling easy victory for RCB. DC could not score more than 140 runs as they lost all their wickets with 5 balls remaining. RCB beats DC by 47 runs and it now takes fifth spot in the points table.
