The Election Commission has stipulated that all voters possessing an Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) must present it as identification at the polling booth. Alternatively, individuals whose names appear in the voters’ list but are unable to produce their EPIC can furnish one of the approved identity documents for verification.

The approved identity documents include a passport, driving license, Aadhaar card, service identity cards issued by central or state government PSUs or public limited companies, passbooks with photographs issued by banks or post offices, MNREGA job card, PAN card, smart card issued by RGI under NPR, health insurance smart card issued under the labor ministry scheme, and pension documents with photographs. Official identity cards issued to MPs, MLAs, and MLCs are also acceptable.

This mandate aims to ensure smooth and fair voting procedures across the participating states. It is crucial for voters to carry the necessary identification to facilitate the electoral process effectively.
