Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar summoned to Delhi as leadership issue intensifies within the ruling party.

A major decision-making exercise has been set in motion within the Karnataka Congress as the dispute over the chief ministerial post has reached the national leadership. With both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar firm on their claims, the Congress High Command has fixed November 29 as the day to resolve the leadership issue in New Delhi.

According to party sources, the meeting will be held under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, with Sonia Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge also expected to participate. Both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar have been directed to be present in the national capital for the crucial discussions.

Even as the internal debate has intensified in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah has already indicated that he will attend the meeting whenever the High Command calls and will abide by its decision. The meeting is expected to play a decisive role in shaping the political future of both leaders. With the power-sharing debate resurfacing, the Congress High Command’s intervention is seen as the final step to restore internal stability. The outcome of the November 29 meeting will determine whether Siddaramaiah continues as Chief Minister or whether Shivakumar’s long-standing demand receives approval.
