Karnataka launches tightly monitored Class 12 board examinations from February 28 to March 17 with webcasting, CCTV, and strict guidelines to ensure fairness and safety.

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board has commenced the Second PUC Examination-1 from today, February 28, marking a crucial academic milestone for over 7.10 lakh students across the state. The examinations will continue until March 17, with elaborate arrangements in place to ensure transparency, discipline, and student safety.

A total of 7,10,363 candidates have registered this year, including 6,46,801 fresh students, 50,540 repeaters, and 13,022 private candidates. To conduct the exams smoothly, 1,217 examination centres have been set up across Karnataka, supported by 5,174 schools and colleges. Every centre has been equipped with CCTV cameras and mandatory webcasting to ensure real-time monitoring and prevent malpractice.

The Department of Pre-University Education has introduced strict guidelines for both staff and students. The use of mobile phones, smartwatches, and all electronic devices is completely banned inside examination centres. Entry of unauthorized individuals, photography, videography, and any form of information sharing related to the exam are strictly prohibited. Carrying explosive materials, weapons, or any dangerous items in restricted zones has also been banned to maintain security.

Officials stated that the examinations will be continuously monitored through webcasting, while CCTV surveillance will function throughout each session. These measures aim to guarantee a fair and transparent examination process.

The department confirmed that all logistical and security preparations are complete. Staff have been trained, and clear instructions have been issued to ensure a disciplined and smooth examination environment.
