Bengaluru facing water crisis
For the past many months, Bengaluru has been grappling with water scarcity owing to borewells drying up in most parts of the city. The BWSSB is also taking a slew of measures to overcome water shortage.
The city is also a hub for software industries. All thanks to the water-related problems, many techies had even planned to return to their natives and work from home. The plight of apartment dwellers – especially high rises – is particularly of concern as several of them were forced to use loos in malls.
If that is one side of the story, the skyrocketing water prices are another! Using adversity as an opportunity, the water mafia is thriving as tankers charge Rs 1300 to Rs 2000 per tanker!
Hoping that the predictions of the met dept come true, rains will bring respite, not only in terms of helping temperatures plumment, but also increased water supply to all homes.
