Gold prices hit record highs! 1 gram may touch ₹15,000 by 2026

Gold buyers are in for a shock, prices of the yellow metal have more than doubled in a year, with 24K gold soaring from ₹5,688 in October 2024 to ₹12,315 in October 2025.

In October 2024, the price of 24-carat gold was ₹5,688 per gram, but by October 2025, it has shot up to ₹12,315 per gram. Similarly, 22-carat gold, which cost around ₹7,100 per gram last year, is now priced at ₹11,290, an unprecedented jump in just 12 months.

Experts say gold has been climbing steadily by ₹50 to ₹200 per day, and if the trend continues, it could touch ₹15,000 per gram by 2026. The steep rise is being attributed to global market uncertainty, rising demand during festive seasons, and fluctuating currency rates.

Just eight years ago, gold was comfortably priced around ₹5,000 per gram, but today, it’s climbing past ₹12,000, making it increasingly out of reach for middle-class buyers.
