Police reports state that Kumari had been pressuring Manaram to marry her, especially since she had already secured a divorce. However, Manaram’s own divorce proceedings were still pending in court. Tensions reportedly escalated when Mukesh visited Manaram’s village on September 10, met his family, and disclosed their relationship.
According to investigators, this revelation angered Manaram and led to a heated argument. Local police were called and provided counselling to the duo, urging them to resolve the matter amicably. Later that evening, things took a dark turn, Manaram allegedly struck Kumari on the head with an iron rod, killing her instantly.

In a desperate attempt to stage the incident as a road accident, the accused placed Kumari’s body in her Alto car and rolled it on the road. He then returned home and pretended as if nothing had happened.
Initially, police registered a case of accidental death, but suspicions arose after both Kumari’s and Manaram’s phones were found at the scene. This crucial clue led to rigorous questioning of Manaram, who eventually confessed to the crime.
