BJP alleges it is a case of 'love jihad'

The stabbing of 23-year-old Neha Hiremath by Faiyaz over an alleged lover in Karnataka’s Hubballi has left the nation shocked.

While the investigations into the incident continue and the BJP throws the ‘love jihad’ angle into it, her father, Niranjan Hiremath has made a startling revelation.

He said, “Niranjan tried killing his own father in relation to a property before the police. On the other hand, the police got a paper signed by him that he wouldn’t repeat such an offence and let him away.”

He also said if he had been apprised, he would have taken more care about his daughter.

“Had I been informed about such an incident, I would have been more careful in dealing with my daughter. Unfortunately, I was not apprised.”

The politics over the issue

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and home minister Parameshwar came under attack from Niranjan as they ruled out any communal angle to it and reduced it to personal rivalry.

However, when Niranjan and several others from the civil society raised objections, the two backtracked.

Law and order situation not under control?

Several murders have taken place in the last few days, leading people to wonder if the law and order situation has collapsed. However, the CM dismissed such allegations and said things are hunky-dory.
