  • Final ODI at Sydney promises a tense series decider

For the third consecutive time, Australia wins the toss, this time choosing to bat first in the series-deciding ODI against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Australia’s captain Mitchell Marsh continued his winning streak at the toss, making it three in a row in the ongoing ODI series against India. In the final match being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Marsh opted to bat first, a change in strategy after choosing to field in the previous two games.

The toss outcome, once again favouring Australia, has brought a hint of frustration for India’s stand-in skipper Shubman Gill, who has yet to call it right this series. However, Gill has responded with notable changes to India’s playing XI, aiming to bring balance and energy into the squad.

India has made two replacements: injured Nitish Kumar and pacer Arshdeep Singh have been sidelined, paving the way for left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav and Karnataka speedster Prasidh Krishna to join the lineup. With this move, India is looking to strengthen its spin and pace combination for the crucial decider.

The rest of the team remains unchanged, with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill opening the innings, followed by Virat Kohli at number three and Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel solidifying the middle order. KL Rahul continues as the wicketkeeper, while the bowling unit will rely on Washington Sundar, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna to deliver a strong performance.

With the series tied, both teams will look to make a strong statement in this high-stakes encounter.
