South Africa bounced back in the second T20I with an explosive batting show, led by Quinton de Kock’s power-hitting and a strong finish from Miller and Perera.
South Africa delivered a powerful comeback in the second T20I at Chandigarh’s Mullanpur after a disappointing performance in the opening match. Losing the toss did not bother them, as the visitors made full use of batting first, starting with an aggressive approach.
Quinton de Kock set the tone with a blistering start, taking on India’s bowlers from the first over. While his opening partner Reeza Hendricks struggled and fell for just 8 off 10 balls to Varun Chakravarthy, de Kock continued to attack fearlessly. Aiden Markram joined him and built a steady yet impactful partnership, mixing clean stroke play with rotation of strike.

De Kock raced to a fifty off just 26 balls, hammering boundaries and clearing the ropes with ease. India’s plans under captain Suryakumar Yadav did not work, and even Arshdeep Singh, brought in to break the stand, leaked 18 runs in an over including seven wides, turning it into a costly spell.
Markram picked up pace in the 12th over by smashing two sixes, but Chakravarthy pulled things back by removing him for 29, breaking an 83-run stand. Soon after, de Kock’s explosive innings came to an end when Jitesh Sharma’s sharp glovework sent him back for a superb 90 featuring seven sixes and five fours.
Dewald Brevis tried to accelerate but managed only 14, leaving the finishing job to David Miller and Donovan Perera. The pair unleashed a late assault, smashing 53 runs in just 23 deliveries. Perera’s 30 from 16 and Miller’s 20 from 12 ensured South Africa crossed the 200 mark.
