Once hailed as RCB’s death-over specialist and a key hero of the title-winning squad, left-arm pacer Yash Dayal is now facing grave legal trouble, with arrest fears rising after a POCSO case and bail rejection in Rajasthan.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal, known for his sharp variations, pace and death-over skills, is facing one of the most difficult phases of his career. The left-arm pacer, who played a crucial role in RCB’s championship-winning campaign after 18 long years, is now in the spotlight for serious legal reasons rather than cricketing feats.

Dayal is under the threat of arrest after being booked in a POCSO case involving a minor girl. The Rajasthan POCSO Court has rejected his bail application, significantly increasing legal pressure on the cricketer. With the case progressing, his participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season has become uncertain.

Despite being aware of the allegations, RCB’s decision to retain Yash Dayal has raised questions, especially as the bowler now faces the possibility of being unavailable for selection. Losing a frontline pacer could disturb the team balance, particularly given Dayal’s strong performances with the new ball and in death overs over the past two seasons, along with his controlled economy rate.

The case against Dayal has been registered at the Sanganer Police Station in Jaipur based on a complaint by a 17-year-old girl from Rajasthan. The complainant has alleged that Dayal lured her under the pretext of providing career guidance in cricket and invited her to a hotel in Sitapura, Jaipur, where the first incident of sexual assault allegedly took place. She has further claimed that the assaults continued over nearly two years, with promises of helping her cricket career. The complaint also alleges that incidents occurred during the IPL 2025 season.

This is not the first legal issue faced by the RCB pacer. Earlier, a woman from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, had filed a complaint on the Chief Minister’s portal, accusing Dayal of sexual exploitation over five years on the promise of marriage. An FIR was registered in that case, but Dayal approached the Allahabad High Court, which granted him interim protection from arrest.

However, the fresh POCSO case has placed Dayal in deeper trouble. With one case already pending and another involving a minor now registered, legal experts indicate that arrest could happen at any time.

As the situation unfolds, RCB management faces a major challenge, identifying a replacement if Dayal is ruled out. With one key bowler potentially missing, the franchise may have to urgently reassess its squad strategy ahead of the next IPL season.
