A city doctor has accused his wife and in-laws of siphoning nearly Rs 29 lakh through unauthorized online purchases, prompting cybercrime police to register a case.
Bengaluru’s Cybercrime police have launched an investigation into a shocking case where a woman allegedly splurged nearly Rs 29 lakh on e-commerce platforms using her husband’s account. The complaint, filed by a city-based doctor, also names the woman’s parents as co-accused in what authorities suspect was a deliberate fraud.

The couple married in March 2023, but within months, the husband alleges, his wife began secretly accessing his tablet and personal accounts to place bulk online orders. Between June 2023 and November 2024, she is said to have purchased over 2,500 items, racking up bills worth Rs 28,74,545.42.
The doctor claimed that the online orders were not meant for his wife’s personal use but were instead carried out to benefit her parents. Investigators believe the transactions were carried out systematically, with the accused exploiting her husband’s financial details and identity without consent.
