Spanning 9,000 acres with AI industries, zero-traffic design, eco-parks, and seamless connectivity, the Greater Bengaluru Innovation and Tech City promises lakhs of jobs and a locals-first policy.
The Karnataka government has announced an ambitious plan to build India’s first AI-powered city, the Greater Bengaluru Innovation and Tech City (GBIT), near Bidadi. Spread across a massive 9,000 acres, this visionary township aims to balance technology, sustainability, and inclusivity while easing the pressure on Bengaluru.
AI at the Core
At the heart of GBIT lies its role as a tech powerhouse, with 2,000 acres dedicated to AI industries. The township will host cutting-edge solutions powered by AI governance, digital twin technology, IoT sensors, and autonomous systems, enabling predictive planning, real-time monitoring of resources, and transparent citizen-first services.
Jobs & Inclusive Growth
GBIT is expected to create lakhs of jobs, driven by a locals-first policy to ensure regional employment opportunities. Farmers and landowners will not just give up their land but will become partners in progress, sharing in the benefits of development.

Connectivity at its Best
- Planned with zero-traffic design, GBIT ensures seamless connectivity:
- Direct links to NH-275, NH-209, NICE Road, and STRR
- Just 6 km from Bidadi railway station with suburban rail access
- Strategically positioned for Metro Phase-3 expansion
- Smooth airport connectivity for global access
- Wide business corridors on either side of zero-traffic roads
A Vision for the Future
Described as a city built on vision, GBIT will integrate technology, nature, and culture, offering a new model of urban life. Its mission is clear: to create opportunity, dignity, and quality of life for all stakeholders through smart, AI-driven planning.
